  3. A comparison of the relative size, weight, 
  4. and form of the P-51D Mustang and the 
  5. Do 335 Pfeil underscores the difference 
  6. in combat aircraft design philosophies 
  7. between the likes of Edgar Schmued (P-
  8. 51 designer) and Claudius Dornier (Do 
  9. 335 designer).  A confrontation between 
  10. these two multi-role fighters would have 
  11. shown the Mustang to be superior in 
  12. almost every category, with the exception 
  13. of speed and ruggedness.  The Dornier, 
  14. able to fly on just one of its engines, would 
  15. have probably taken quite a beating while 
  16. remaining flyable...an attribute the P-51 
  17. could not boast about.

  21. On a fighter sweep ahead of the bomber 
  22. stream bound for the oil refineries at 
  23. Leuna, you encounter a flight of Me 163 
  24. rocket fighters taking off from a Luftwaffe 
  25. airfield just north of Leipzig.  Lead your 
  26. flight in to attack the Komets as they begin 
  27. to climb, but watch out for their protectors: 
  28. a pair of the new Do 335 Pfeil fighters 
  29. you've heard so much about.
